52-yr-old Man Arrested For Kidnapping, Raping 14-yr-old Boy (pictured)

Hassan Muhammad, a 52-year-old man based in Maje village on the outskirt of Suleja, Niger State, has been arrested by the State Police Command for allegedly abducting a 14-year-old boy and sodomising him for two months before he was rescued, Daily Trust reports.

The Sokoto State born Muhammad, a trader and father of seven, was first arrested by members of the Suleja Emirate Vigilante operating in the area before he handed over to the Suleja Police Area Command, where he was currently being held.

The victim, who is currently on admission at the Suleja General Hospital, told reporters that Muhammad met him two months ago at Lambata village along Suleja-Minna road, where he lives with an Islamic instructor as an Almajiri at the cleric’s informal school.

During the encounter, the boy said Muhammad lured him to join him in his business of selling dresses at Maje, where he has a shop and the boy seeing an opportunity in the horizon, agreed to go with him.

The the suspect took him to a village market where he sold his wares and they then returned to his base.

The victim further alleged that Muhammad used to have homosexual sex with him inside his shop.

He said on the first night, he woke up to find himself half-Unclad with the man beside him cleaning his private part. The victim further disclosed that the man usually locked him in the shop anytime he was away but always together in the shop whenever he was around.

He alleged that the man used To Molest him twice in a week.

Senate Gives Buhari 2-week Ultimatum To End Fuel Scarcity

THE Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream),has directed the Minister of Petroleum Resources,President Muhammadu Buhari, to end the ongoing fuel scarcity in the country within two weeks from now.

This came on the heels of disclosure by the Pipeline Products Marketing Company,PPMC,that Nigeria lost a whopping N50 billion in ten months as a result of vandalisation of petroleum pipeline in some parts of the country.

Chairman of the committee,Senator Uche Ekwenife, who gave the directive,Thursday,in Abuja,during the committee’s meeting with top officials of Ministry of Petroleum Resources,insisted that the petroleum minister must not only end the scarcity but ensure ensure that fuel was sold to the public at government’s controlled price of N87.00 per litre.

Senator Ekwenife,representing Anambra South, on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party,PDP,frowend at the ongoing fuel crisis,saying Nigerians were suffering untold hardship following the development.

Fuming over what she described as unnecessary fuel crisis, Ekwenife, said:”We are mandating the Minister of Petroleum Resources,the Permanent Secretary and heads of agencies to stop this fuel scarcity in two weeks.

“We are giving a target now,we don’t wan’t to know how you would achieve it.Nigerians want to see an end to this fuel scarcity.

Pastor Ifeanyi Rapes Teenager During Deliverance, Blames Devil

The Nasarawa State Police command on Monday arrested a 46 year-old pastor,

According to police authorities, the alleged rape took place on November 3 when the pastor was performing deliverance on the teenager.
However, the pastor described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.

While parading the suspect at the Criminal Investigative Department, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Mohammed, said the suspect was apprehended following a report by the father of the victim, Mr. Martins Ijiwo.

According to the police, the cleric, who lives in the Alikima Mararaba area of the state, lured the victim into his house under the pretext of casting out demons from her.

The police boss said the cleric allegedly pushed her to his bed and raped her repeatedly.

The commissioner said the suspect threatened to kill the victim if she reported the incident to any member of her family.

However, when the father of the girl learnt of the incident, he reported the matter to the police. The police subsequently stormed the pastor’s home and arrested him.

Policemen also recovered bottles of anointing oil from the suspect’s home as well as a bedspread.

The CP said, “The pastor took advantage of his closeness to the girl’s family – who are members of his congregation – To Molest their 13-year-old daughter under the guise of casting out demons from her.”

While speaking with our correspondent at the police command, the pastor confessed to the crime, adding that he didn’t know what came over him when he committed the crime.

He said, “I had been into evangelism for some years now and I have been casting out demons from people who have spiritual and family problems before I met this young girl through her father, Mr. Martins Ijiwo.

“I have been a friend of the family for quite some time.

“I used my anointing oil to lure her into my room and all of a sudden, I was carried away and before I knew what was happening, I saw myself making love to her.”

Meanwhile, the police have also arrested four suspects for allegedly kidnapping a Taiwanese, Mr. Chew Williams, on October 6.

“We collected the sum of N7m from the Taiwanese before releasing him,” the suspects said.

It was learnt, however, that the police were only able to recover N750, 000 from the suspects

Four Lagos City Polytechnic Lecturers Arrested For Exam Malpractice

The Lagos State Police  has arrested four lecturers of the Lagos City Polytechnic, Ikeja for their alleged involvement in examination malpractice in the institution.

Our correspondent learnt that the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, arrested the lecturers last Thursday and detained them for about three days before releasing them on bail.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Joe Offor, a deputy superintendent, who confirmed the arrest, noted that the police only released the lecturers on bail, as investigation into the matter was still ongoing.

Offor also did not disclose the names of the suspects.
He added that the registrar of the institution had brought the matter to the attention of the police.

He said, “The registrar of the school reported the case against them. The allegations preferred against them bordered on forgery, theft and manipulation of examination results. Our men at SDCI arrested and detained them at Yaba. Based on issues arising from our findings, the police decided to release them on bail. Meanwhile, we are still investigating the matter.”

A reliable police source told our correspondent that the lecturers were accused of falsifying the results of a student of the institution who had relocated overseas.

The source added that the action of the lecturers elicited a protest from other students.
The source said, “A student of the institution, who travelled out of the country and was unavailable for exams, was said to have made a distinction in the school, while other students had average grades. This led to a protest among the students, and it got to the ears of the management.

“The management then reported the matter to the police, and the concerned lecturers were arrested.”
When our correspondent visited the polytechnic on Monday, the security official at the reception said the rector was unavailable for comment.

The official added that the school authorities would get across to our correspondent on the matter through a phone call.
He said, “The rector is in a management meeting. He is the only one who can talk to you on the matter. You can drop your contact. He will get back to you after the meeting.”

Meanwhile, as of the time of filing in this report, by 6pm on Monday, the rector had not called our correspondent.
One of the students, who identified himself simply as Femi, noted that the arrest of the lecturers’ was the issue at stake in the institution for some days now.
